Our trustees began this initiative with the sole aim of imparting primary, secondary, and higher education to boys and girls in and around Madurai, the Temple City. They have over five decades of rich experience in running educational institutions — from primary schools to higher secondary schools.
In 1995, upon entering the arena of higher education, our trust was registered to establish institutions of higher learning. After acquiring nearly 75 acres of land, we began our journey by launching an arts college in 1997 with just 50 students. Within 19 years, this arts college has evolved into a hub of higher education for girls, now educating nearly 2,000 students. To date, we have produced around 3,000 graduates and postgraduates. Nearly 40,000 sq. ft. of buildings have been constructed, equipped with all necessary infrastructure and facilities.
In 2006, our trust successfully established Mangayarkarasi College of Education to offer the B.Ed program with an initial intake of 100 students. Adding a feather to our cap, our college became the first in South India to admit 200 B.Ed students in 2007. So far, we have trained and shaped 1,500 teachers who are now serving society with dedication. In the same year, 2007, we also launched the Mangayarkarasi Teacher Training Institute with an intake of 100 students. To date, nearly 900 primary-level teachers have been trained through this program.
In 2013, we received recognition to start Mangayarkarasi Engineering College, with an annual intake of 300 students. We are now successfully completing our third year, with a total student strength of nearly 500. We have constructed nearly 1 lakh sq. ft. of buildings, fully equipped with the requisite infrastructure and laboratory facilities.
